The Impact of Chess: Research

Chess is more than just an enjoyable game; it is a proven, cost-effective way to teach the basic cognitive skills that underlie all learning.

Chess builds concentration, enhances memory, nurtures creativity and develops critical thinking skills, all of which are key to academic success. Dozens of studies over the past thirty years have shown the game's profound impact on young children’s academic performance in both reading and math (Gaudreau, 1992; Margulies, 1991).
