I've seen my son mature from an introverted, socially awkward boy to a confident young man, largely through his involvements in chess. Through BCS he found a group with which he could identify and feel comfortable, he developed confidence and self-esteem, he became part of a team, and he found a best friend.
I'm just writing to thank you for all the work you've done to involve kids in chess: the school-year classes, tournaments, summer camps, etc. My son has benefited a lot from all these things, and it's been a real pleasure watching his progress.
Just a note to thank you for your grand effort and success with the annual chess tournament. Having it double in size was a tribute to your dedication and enthusiasm for scholastic chess. All of our children benefit so much from the program you have created and grown.

BCS student Aaron Wilkowski ponders his college choices. Aaron was accepted into both CalTech and MIT.
