Congratulations, Girls! Well played!


The Berkeley Chess School is proud to announce spectacular results from the All Girls State Championship January 30-31, 2010 in San Rafael, where we represented almost 25% of the players. Some of the highlights include:
In Section 1 - Junior High/High School (7th -12th grades):
Natalie Baldacchi won 1st place
Kylin Poropat won 2nd place
Jennifer Li and Sophia Leswing tied for 4th place
Madelyn Chen won fifth place
Rebecca Chen won sixth place

In Section 2 - Elementary School (4th -6th grades):
Sophia Li won second place
Sofia Campos-Seligman and Miranda Christ tied for third place
Diana Ren and Ella Hoffman tied for fourth place in the overall section, and Diana Ren won first place in the 4th Grade level

In Section 3 - Elementary School (2nd-3rd grades):
Lindsay Kornguth won second place
Abigail Yu won sixth place

In Section 4 (Kindergarten - 1st grade):
Jade Kessinger won second place

We are delighted to see that your hard work is producing such impressive results. Every year the Berkeley Chess School participates in this tournament; in 2009 Berkeley Chess School students earned first place in the K-6 and K-8 sections.
