All Girls State Championship Jan 2010
Congratulations, Girls! Well played!
The Berkeley Chess School is proud to announce spectacular results from the All Girls State Championship January 30-31, 2010 in San Rafael, where we represented almost 25% of the players. Some of the highlights include:
In Section 1 - Junior High/High School (7th -12th grades):
• Natalie Baldacchi won 1st place
• Kylin Poropat won 2nd place
• Jennifer Li and Sophia Leswing tied for 4th place
• Madelyn Chen won fifth place
• Rebecca Chen won sixth place
In Section 2 - Elementary School (4th -6th grades):
• Sophia Li won second place
• Sofia Campos-Seligman and Miranda Christ tied for third place
• Diana Ren and Ella Hoffman tied for fourth place in the overall section, and Diana Ren won first place in the 4th Grade level
In Section 3 - Elementary School (2nd-3rd grades):
• Lindsay Kornguth won second place
• Abigail Yu won sixth place
In Section 4 (Kindergarten - 1st grade):
• Jade Kessinger won second place

We are delighted to see that your hard work is producing such impressive results. Every year the Berkeley Chess School participates in this tournament; in 2009 Berkeley Chess School students earned first place in the K-6 and K-8 sections.
