Are you looking for a summer chess camp that offers CHALLENGE, EXCITEMENT, A CHANCE TO MAKE NEW FRIENDS and just plain old FUN? Come to the Berkeley Chess School summer chess camps!
The program includes chess instruction at different levels. Emphasis is on the joy of the game but with a serious eye to the student's progress.
We offer chess camps in Berkeley, Alamo, El Cerrito, Oakland, Piedmont, Pleasanton, San Ramon and Walnut Creek!
We are also expecting to offer chess camps in Alameda, Concord, Lafayette, Livermore, Orinda this year.

Full Day Option!!
BCS offers a full-day option for camp, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM for six one-week sessions at the Berkeley location. Mornings will include unstructured play with both outdoor (sports) and indoor (art) options, or even casual games for those who just can't get enough chess! From 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM, they will attend chess camp. Children may be dropped off as early as 8:00 AM and should bring their own lunch and snacks. Aftercare will continue until 5:30 PM. The Berkeley Chess School is a non-profit corporation that gives chess instruction to over 5,000 children in over 140 schools in Northern California. It was founded 25 years ago by former Irish Women's Chess Champion, Elizabeth Shaughnessy.
