Berkeley Quad May 2012
On Saturday, May 12th, the Berkeley Chess School held its spring quad tournament in Berkeley. 66 students attended and there was talented chess played, all the way from quad #1 down to quad #16.
National Master Robert Hamm, a Berkeley Chess School teacher was at the tournament, analyzing the games with the students, helping them with strategies, tactics and overall, enhancing their chess skill. Here is the Best Game that was selected by Coach Hamm:
After the quad, the Berkeley Bishops, the Berkeley Chess School's elite chess team, competed in a Puzzle Challenge Match! The Bishops were given 10 puzzles, ranging from easy to very hard! Each puzzle was set up, each puzzle was revealed in intervals of 3 minutes. After 1 hour, all competitors handed in their answers. Points were awarded to the top 5 and those points will be added to the Berkeley Bishops points total. It was Ahmed Muhammad came in first place with 19 points (out of 25)! Congratulations Ahmed!
