The Berkeley Chess School welcomed all comers to our booth at the Solano Avenue Stroll Sept. 9, which attracted more than 300,000 people to see more than 400 vendor booths and 40 entertainment acts.

“For an event this size, we call it a success if it goes without major injuries, unusual police activity, or property damage”, said Solano Avenue Association executive director Allen Cain. “I am completely thrilled, walking on air, with the success of this year’s event. We had nothing happen [among injuries, criminal activity, property damage], and everything was great with the weather, vendor booth placement, parking, no loud music complaints and no complaints from the bands about barbecue smoke.”
