Join our fantastic Chess Winter Camp!
Our winter camp will be fun, engaging and challenging! You can meet new friends who share a love of chess while improving your game and learning new strategies.
Our wonderful Berkeley Chess Center will provide a spacious and airy location for our camp, with a large playground for lots of outdoor activities. Following CDC guidelines, all staff are fully vaccinated, masks will be worn by all participants, and physical distancing will be observed.
Our experienced staff have ensured a fun and engaging camp atmosphere for over 20 years. We hope you will join us this Winter!

2021 BCS Winter Camp (Online) now open for registration!
The Berkeley Chess School will be holding Winter camp programs online from December 20th- December 30th! We will offer 10am, 1pm, and 3pm camps starting the week of December 20th, through December 30th. For our online camps, the students will use zoom and lichess.org. Camps will be taught by our experienced and engaging instructors, including BCS favorites Coach Neal, Mr. Chess, Coach Poehlmann and others. for more information, and to register, click on the link below.

We also have chess camps in cities nearby. Registration is taken through each city’s Recreation and Parks departments for camps in Benicia, El Cerrito, Orinda, Piedmont, Pleasant Hill, Pleasanton and San Ramon. In Albany, we will hold chess camp at the UC University Village (register through UC). Schedules for these camps are on hold for now, due to safety concerns around Covid-19. We will be update the schedules as we get more information.
