2021 BCS Summer Camp (In Person!) now open for registration!

Join our fantastic Chess Summer Camp! Intensive Chess Instruction in the afternoons from top BCS Instructors. Morning activities include art and science projects, outdoor sports, and more.

Our wonderful Berkeley Chess Center will provide a spacious and airy location for our camp, with a large playground for lots of outdoor activities. Following CDC guidelines, all staff are fully vaccinated, masks will be worn by all participants, and physical distancing will be observed.

Our experienced staff have ensured a fun and engaging camp atmosphere for over 20 years. We hope you will join us this summer!

2021 BCS Summer Camp online now open for registration!

The Berkeley Chess School will be holding Summer camp programs online from June 7th- August 13th! We will offer 9am, 10am, 1pm, and 3pm camps starting the week of June 7th, through August 13th. For our online camps, the students will use zoom and lichess.org.  Camps will be taught by our experienced and engaging instructors, including BCS favorites Coach Neal, Mr. Chess, Coach Poehlmann and others. for more information, and to register, click on the link below.

BCS Summer Camp Intermediate 10am online, Monday- Friday, 10am-11:30am

We also have chess camps in cities nearby. Registration is taken through each city’s Recreation and Parks departments for camps in Benicia, El Cerrito, Orinda, Piedmont, Pleasant Hill, Pleasanton and San Ramon.  In Albany, we will hold chess camp at the UC University Village (register through UC). Schedules for these camps are on hold for now, due to safety concerns around Covid-19. We will be update the schedules as we get more information.
