It’s that time again! We’re excited to invite you to the 6th Annual Richmond Chess Festival, happening Saturday, October 25th, from 10 AM to 5 PM at COBIZ Richmond.

Come celebrate Chess in Richmond Month and National Chess Day with a full day of free, family-friendly fun, hosted by the West Coast Chess Alliance.

Free weekend parking is available at BART and on nearby streets.

A huge thank you to Dr. Andrew Larazus, the Richmond Rotary Club, EdFund West, and Hays Insurance Company for helping us keep this event free and open to the community!

Whether you’re brand new to the game or a longtime player, there’s something for everyone!

Here’s what’s happening throughout the day:
On-Site Registration (10:00 – 11:00 AM): Check in and get ready for a day full of chess and community. In-person check-in is required; participation is not guaranteed if you arrive after 11:00 AM.

Challenge a First Responder (10:00 AM – 12:00 PM): Local youth will have a chance to play against a City of Richmond First Responder — always a crowd favorite!
Quad Tournament (G30, Non-Rated, 12:30 – 3:30 PM): Pairings announced at 12:15 PM. Rounds at 12:30, 1:30, and 2:30 PM. Advance registration is highly encouraged — space fills up fast!
